West Coast fast food

There are a whole slew of different fast food joints around here that the East doesn't have. Here are a few I jotted down:

-Sonic
-Carl's Jr. (really good burgers- reminds me of The Jackson House burgers)
-Green Burito
-Del Taco
-El Pollo Loco
-A&W's
-In & Out Burgers
-Jack In The Box
-Baja Fresh
-Panda Express
-El Gordo Express

You'll notice there's a lot of Mexican food =). There are also some different drink places, like Kiva Juice and Jamba Juice (good smoothies). And some of the Starbucks out here have drive-thru's. No Dunkin Donuts though, which I miss because they started carrying these awesome "White hot chocolate" drinks which are really good. I haven't noticed any other Eastern franchises that aren't represented out here, although I've only seen one Wendy's, which is a shame because Wendy's used to be a lunchtime staple.

You brought back yummy memories! :) Jas loved Jack in the Box (try their Sourdough Jack) and In & Out is awesome. Carl Jr. is actually just the west coast version of Hardee's. But, if you want to have the best burger in the world, take the time one weekend and drive to Biggie Burger in San Clemente (south of LA). It is worth the drive. I still dream about those burgers and it has been 5 years since I've had one! :)

All great places to eat...I miss them! Have you had a chance to ask any of these new places if they carry "peach mocha frappucinos" or whatever it is you used to ask for? ;-)

Erin,
I can't believe Carl's Jr. is just a variant of Hardee's! Carl's "six dollar burger" is ginormous and comes in a box that actually feels heavy. Hardee's on the other hand- not so hot. Oh well, I've never known you to lie before. guess I'll have to take your word for it.

Vanessa,
lol,I'm thinkin' the peach mocha frap was a one-time thing. Wasn't that at a McD's? good times... =)

aight folks, any more fav's or recommendations?

I can't believe you would doubt me! :) Haven't you ever noticed the little star on Carl's Jr. is the same as Hardee's? And Hardee's has the six dollar burger too. But, I did always think that Carl's Jr. was better than Hardee's. And I'm serious, go to Biggie Burger, you will be hooked.

And there's this little "burger-n-fries" stand in Santa Barbara that I like. =)

No Chick-Fil-A out there? Man, that is my all-time favorite fast food. Waffle fries and all. Just had lunch there yesterday with a friend from church.

Doesn't In-N-Out taste like papertowels? Because I rate restaurants by their fries, In-N-Out scored low due to their patting their fries down with papertowels before serving them. They're luke-warm and dry and taste like paper towels! Great T-shirts, though.

I love Sonic's drinks. The Cherry-limeaides are awesome. And Panda Express's Orange Chicken has been a favorite of mine for like 10 years. Wish we had them here in OK. We must be the last state in the country to not have one.

Do you remember going out to eat with Erin,Michelle, Mr. A. & your granddad at an IBLP seminar and asking the waitress for a "plain" hamburger-but you wanted everything on it? Maybe you can find a place that serves those kind! My husband still laughs about that story!

haha, Mrs. A. I can't believe you guys remember that! In my 12 yr old mind, a "plain" old hamburger meant a regular hamburger with all the usual fixin's, but no extras =)

C, have to agree with you on In-N-Out's fries. They tout them cuz they're never frozen but they just don't make the grade.

Hey buddy saw your comment on Amy's blog thought I'd check your's out just for fun. I'm sorry to say (well I take that back I'm glad . . . I'm just sorry to correct you) We do have a Panda Express off 85 in Frederick MD, there is a Baja Fresh in Timonium (near Baltimore), and my favorite place to eat growing up was in fact Del Taco, sadly they went out of buisness when I was six. I cried for weeks. Anyway, it was nice posting to you. God bless and enjoy your day.
